The Experience of Summer Music Camp
Singers in Level II and above are required to attend our Day Camp and “Away” Camp, a sleepaway camp in Healdsburg, CA. This camp kicks off the school year and is an exciting opportunity for singers to build rapport and cohesivity as an ensemble before starting regular rehearsals in September.
Summer Music Camp is held at Rio Lindo Adventist Academy in Healdsburg, 90 miles north of San Francisco among the beautiful forests and hills of Sonoma County. The campus is expansive, lush and welcoming with plenty of space for music education and leisure.
Recognizing the unique opportunities for personal growth which are inherent in a residence camp experience, the Chorus holds a Music Camp each summer. Choristers are involved in a rigorous music program interspersed with recreational activities that the choristers look forward to every year. The change in setting and lack of other obligations allows each chorister to make rapid daily progress in mastering repertoire and music theory. Due to this dedicated period of study, choristers have the opportunity to emerge with a strong sense of musical self-confidence, as well as an established common bond of friendship and common interest with their fellow choristers.
