The San Francisco Girls Chorus is proud to offer a comprehensive music education and performance program for singers ages 4-18. We offer rehearsals in San Francisco at the Kanbar Performing Arts Center and in Emeryville at the East Bay German International School. Families can choose to register at either campus, in any of the rehearsal sections offered for their singer’s ensemble. Our program features six ensembles, differentiated by age, curriculum, rehearsal schedule, and performance opportunities. Singers advance through our ensembles by faculty recommendation as their musicianship and personal skills develop throughout their time in the program. When you register for our program, you commit to a full school year from September through May.

Prep Chorus provides young singers ages 4-5 the opportunity to develop their voices and musicianship in an exciting, positive, age-appropriate atmosphere. Prep Chorus has two tiers—Prep 1 and Prep 2.

Prep Chorus offers a broad musical foundation, and its training utilizes American and multicultural folk music, Kodály methods, games, and movement to foster the enjoyment of making music and develop musical skills, including reading, writing, improvising, interpreting, and describing music.
