Angelina Picazo, Ensemble B Director
Angelina Picazo is excited to teach Ensemble B at the San Francisco Girls Chorus. She holds a B.A. in Music Composition with a minor in Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is currently pursuing a Single-Subject Credential in Music at San Francisco State University, along with a Master of Arts in Music Education at San José State University. In addition to her role at SFGC, Angelina serves as the Assistant Teacher in the Vocal Department at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts (RASOTA), working with singers ages 14-18 across various ensembles.
A passionate music educator, Angelina believes in the transformative power of choral music to shape students' lives, build confidence, and foster a sense of belonging through artistic expression. Her teaching philosophy focuses on creating a student-centered environment where singers feel valued, challenged, and inspired to grow both vocally and personally.
With experience working with a wide range of age groups, from young beginners at SFGC to advanced high school students at RASOTA, Angelina has developed a strong foundation in directing choirs, selecting inclusive repertoire, and fostering vocal technique. She emphasizes music literacy, sight-singing, and performance preparation, blending traditional methods with innovative strategies to nurture individual growth and a love of music at every stage of a student’s journey.
