San Francisco Girls Chorus, Level I Director
Kaori Nakano joined the San Francisco Girls Chorus as an accompanist in 1997 and became a Level I Director this year. She majored in Voice at the prestigious Horikawa Music High School and at Kobe College in Japan. She received her Master’s degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she won first place in the American Art Song competition, as well as an award for outstanding diction and pitch.
Kaori currently teaches at Millbrae School district and is an artist-in-residence at the Japanese Community and Cultural Center of Northern California, where she directs the Japanese children's choir.
