On April 26, 2012, San Francisco Girls Chorus and Berkeley Symphony, joined by soprano Jessica Rivera, will give the world premiere of the first installment of a new, two-part, multimovement work by award-winning composer Gabriela Lena Frank. Commissioned by the SFGC and Berkeley Symphony, the work is inspired by women of the past and present and will feature a libretto by celebrated Portuguese poet Tolentino de Mendonça.
