The Sweet Sound of Success

We held a party for the release of our magnificent new double CD set, Heaven and Earth

We had a great event Sunday at our building, the Kanbar Center for the Arts at 44 Page Street. We held a party for the release of our magnificent new double CD set, Heaven and Earth, combined with a silent auction organized by the Alumnae Association. The Alumnae Chorus sang, as did Chorissima; composer and former SFGC accompanist (and current pianist for Wicked Dwight Okamura spoke about the piece he wrote for the girls last spring (which is on the Earth part of the new recording); caterer and alumna Maggie Lukens provided a delicious array of snacks and sweets; and sommelier and alumna Katy Schumacher offered pours of a new release of wines, called “Take My Heart,” sponsored by the Alumnae Association and sold to benefit SFGC by Crushpad.

And, thanks to all of your generosity, we raised over $10,000! Plus we sold almost $6000 worth of CDs!! Not bad for one Sunday afternoon at the Chorus. It was also a nice kickoff to the holiday season, SFGC style. From now through December 22, Chorus life will be all about preparing for and performing various holiday concerts. Stay tuned for updates, photos and video here and in some of our other forums on Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and Twitter.
