FELLOWSHIPS
Conducting Fellowships are awarded to Graduates and Laureates for participation in the Conducting Seminar held during Summer Music Camp. This course provides an introduction to the development of skills, musicianship needs, and the knowledge necessary to plan choral rehearsals, to teach a specific piece of music in rehearsals, and to direct that piece in performance. It is designed to assist Graduates and Laureates in discovering the excitement and joy in the art of working with and nurturing young singers. Taking this class is also a prerequisite to become a Conducting Apprentice in the Chorus School during the regular school year.
Theory Fellowships are awarded to Graduates and Laureates who wish to learn to teach music theory, or to continue studies in composition or arranging. The coursework begins at Summer Music Camp and may continue throughout the year in an Apprenticeship.
