When is registration?
Registration packets for our Fall 2009 semester are currently being mailed to interested families. Please call 415.863.1752, x370 to request that a registration packet be mailed to you. Registration is held on a first come, first served basis.
How much is tuition?
Tuition is $350, which includes a $100 nonrefundable deposit. A $10 T-Shirt to be worn during performances must be purchased upon entrance to the program. (Additional T-Shirts may be purchased at your discretion.)
Is there an audition?
No.
How are parents involved?
Parents are welcome to observe class, but are encouraged to let their daughters develop independently as well. Parents wishing to wait at the Chorus building may use the main-level lounge. A mid-semester classroom demonstration will be held for parents to ask questions and discover what the students are experiencing in class. A culminating performance and reception will be held on the final day of class. Please check the calendar for these important dates.
What happens when my daughter turns seven?
Girls may remain in Prep Chorus through age seven. At age seven, girls are invited to audition for the SFGC Chorus School. While participation in Prep Chorus provides an excellent foundation for further music study, it does not guarantee acceptance into the Chorus School, which is based on individual maturity and vocal ability, and gained through an audition process.
Is there a Prep Chorus uniform?
For weekly class, girls are to wear comfortable clothing that allows for stretching, dancing, standing, and sitting on the floor. For the mid-semester demonstration and final performance, all girls wear the Prep Chorus uniform, which includes:
• Prep Chorus T-shirt, tucked in
• Long blue jeans, plain design
• Close-toed shoes or sneakers
• Hair groomed and pulled away from the face
• No jewelry, make-up or nail polish
The Prep Chorus T-shirt costs $10.00 and orders are placed at registration.
