From the village to the concert hall, music inspired by world folk traditions unites the Girls Chorus with the members of Kitka, one of the world’s leading interpreters of exquisite harmonies from Eastern Europe and beyond.

PROGRAM: Conrad Susa, Carols and Lullabies; John Rutter: Selections from Dancing Day; Libby Larsen: Natus est Emmanuel; Kodály: Angels and Shepherds; plus sing-along carols and other selections.

Always a much-anticipated holiday tradition, the full complement of 300 voices from the San Francisco Girls Chorus and Chorus School literally fills the Davies Hall stage with the sounds and joy of the season, providing ample opportunity for the audience to join in the festive fun. The Lafayette concert features a more intimate program with the 40 voices of the Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Girls Chorus.

In Praise of Music

PROGRAM: Joan Szymko: world premiere (title to be announced); David Conte: In Praise of Music; Purcell: Music for a While; Schubert: Ständchen; Paulus: Sing Creations Music On; music for double choirs by Holst, Chesnokov and others.

The power of singing in our lives is heard in music from all eras as Artistic Director Susan McMane pulls out all the stops in a celebratory final concert with the San Francisco Girls Chorus. Joining the Girls Chorus will be the members of its acclaimed Alumnae Chorus plus more special guests.

Closing Night Concerts
