In her debut performance as Music Director and Principal Conductor, Valerie Sainte-Agathe creates a program of profound beauty and vibrant musical color. From works by 15th century Franco-Flemish composers to the haunting tonalities of the 20th century in the music of Maurice Ohana and Francis Poulenc, this concert will shimmer with style and gorgeous harmony.

First Congregational Church, Berkeley
Join SFGC for a heartwarming, intimate evening of holiday favorites to usher in the festive season! In the perfect acoustical setting of Berkeley’s First Congregational Church, the Chorus’s soaring, exquisite sound rings out in classics like the Carol of the Bells and many others. Audience members may join in the celebration by singing along with the Chorus on many beloved carols.

Traditional favorites performed by the full complement of 350+ voices of the San Francisco Girls Chorus and Chorus School meet new jazz arrangements of holiday classics in this lighthearted celebration of the season. Composer/performer Marcus Shelby and his Quintet bring a little swing to the stage of Davies Symphony Hall in a holiday extravaganza that gives everyone, including the audience, a chance to sing.

In this rarely staged 20th century master work by Benjamin Britten, developed from a 15th-century mystery play, the biblical story of Noah and his ark comes to life through the 350 voices of the San Francisco Girls Chorus and Chorus School. SFGC is honored to share the stage with Carey Perloff, Artistic Director of the American Conservatory Theatre, as she portrays The Voice of God.

Nourse Theatre, San Francisco
The riveting score to Stravinsky’s iconoclastic ballet, Les Noces, will be performed by SFGC and the Alumnae Chorus in the composer’s live 4-piano version. The program also includes Poulenc's Litanies a la Vierge Noire and Three Motets by Fauré. Les Noces will mark the second collaboration between SFGC and innovative and sought-after dance-theater artist Joe Goode and his company.
